Yesterday we went on our first game drive arranged through the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. We saw 3 of the “Big 5” (Elephant, Rhino and Cape Buffalo), but none of the big cats yet. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for those on a future exploration. This drive started at 4pm and went until after dark, finishing around 8pm. My parents did several safaris in South Africa and Kenya, and these were multi-day excursions. We were tired after just 3.5 hours!

Lack of a high-speed Internet connection is continuing to plague us. I didn’t appreciate how dependent upon a “connected world” we’d become.
